GREAT RESULTS FROM HEALTH CHECKS!
Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) had her health
checks done on October 28th and we have now got the Kennel
Club's official results also from the hips and elbows. The
results were excellent across the board; hips A/A (excellent),
eyes clear, elbows 0/0 (normal) and patellas 0/0 (normal)!
We are extremely happy about these great results! We can
now start making plans for our fist American Akita litter.
Hopefully we have some exciting news to share with you
shortly!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO 1-YEAR-OLD ISLA!
Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) celebrated her
1-year-old birthday on Friday the 31st of July. The
birthday girl had some delicious cake, ate some fresh
raspberries straight from the bush for dessert and then
took a refreshing dip in the lake. Isla sends many
greetings to her breeder and co-owner Blanka
Borowiec-Szczepanska (Finigan Akitas) and congratulates
all her siblings; Finigan Bos-Eri Rootsie in the USA,
Finigan Bos-Eri Shanti in Poland, Finigan Bos-Eri Yumiko
in Latvia, Finigan Bos-Eri Royal Edition in the
Netherlands and Finigan Bos-Eri Bruce in Israel!

SUMMER DAYS FOR AMERICAN AKITAS IN
KUOPIO
This year the Summer Days for American Akitas were held in
Kuopio, Rauhalahti, and we were there with Isla (Finigan
Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) both on Saturday and Sunday. The
unofficial Summer Show was unfortunately held on Saturday
which was a really rainy day. The judge Annukka Paloheimo
judged all-together 30 American Akitas and Isla competed
in the junior class. The judge placed Isla third in her
class and awarded her with a CQ (Champion Quality) which
was used in this unofficial show.
The Summer Days weekend was really nice even though on
Saturday the weather wasn't in our favour. That didn't
slow things down though, after all we are talking about
the American Akita people and they don't get startled over
small things. Thank you to the Club for a nice weekend!

SPECIALTY SHOW FOR AMERICAN AKITAS
IN HEINOLA
This year the Specialty Show for American Akitas was held
in Heinola. There were 29 American Akitas shown in the
ring and the judge was Chris Thomas (Nosferatu Akitas)
from England. The weather was sunny with no breeze to
speak of which kept both the dogs and the owners feeling
hot during the whole day. Isla showed nicely considering
the weather, though the heat took the best edge off from
her movement. The judge awarded Isla with an Excellent and
the second place in the junior class. The result was very
nice in a tough competition! Thank you to the judge and
congratulations to all who were successful at the show!

ISLA BOB AND BIG-2 IN NATIONAL ALL
BREED SHOW IN LAUKAA!
The day of the show in Laukaa was sunny and hot. American
Akitas were judged by Marianne Holm who awarded Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La
Isla Bonita) with an excellent critique, CAC and Best Of
Breed win! This was a great result and the judges
beautiful words of our girl Isla felt especially nice! The
group 5 was judged by Marja Talvitie and Isla showed very
nicely for her. The result was an amazing BIG-2 placement
and we were extremely happy and proud of Isla's great
result! The day was incredible, a huge thank you to the
judges! Thank you also to everyone who congratulated us
and shared our joy for Isla's success! We congratulate
Isla's breeder and co-owner Blanka Borowiec-Szczepanska (Finigan
Akitas) and thank her for this beautiful girl!

ISLA WINS BIS-3 IN A MATCH SHOW IN VARKAUS!
We went to a Match Show organized by the Varkauden Palvelus-
ja Seurakoirat Club in Varkaus on Tuesday evening. The
judges at the show were Päivikki Ruth and Sari Semi. As
usual Isla felt right at home at the show place and was
happy to get acquainted with all the people and dogs. Isla
competed in the Puppy Class. She won her pair and later on
also all the other puppies at the show! In the Best In
Show ring she placed third, way to go Isla! Thank you to
the judges and the Club for a nice Match Show!

ISLA BEST OF BREED IN NATIONAL ALL BREED SHOW IN MÄNTTÄ!
We headed towards National All Breed Show in Mänttä on
the hottest day of the year so far. Air-conditioning in
the car was more than needed during the trip as the heat
struck us as soon as we opened the car doors. Our ring was
on a sunny field so the day kept getting even hotter as
the temperature rose to 30°C even in the shade.
Considering the immense heat and her thick coat Isla
showed very well. The judge at the show was Raisa Savander
who awarded Isla with Best Of Breed and CAC! We were so
thrilled with Isla's result and our friend Katariina's
male Ykä received his first CAC and BOS so this made the
day even more special, congratulations once again! We did
not stay to wait for the group ring because the hot
weather had definately taken its toll on both the dog and
the handler. We congratulate all who did well at the show
and we thank everyone for their congratulations!

INTERNATIONAL SHOW IN HELSINKI,
ISLA BEST BITCH-3!
Aptus Show in Helsinki had the largest American Akita turn
out (28) so far for this year despite a few entered dogs
were absent. The judge at the show was Leif-Herman Wilberg
from Norway. The weather was sunny and hot but luckily the
occasional breeze would cool things down a bit as our ring
was outside.
Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) competed in the
junior class, she showed nicely and the judge awarded her
with an excellent and the class win! In the Best Bitch
competion our young lady had what it took to win third
place! This was a great result in a large International
Show for our under 10-month-old baby girl! We congratulate
everyone who were successful at the show, especially the
handsome BOB male Paolo (Echo Star's Any Time Any Where)
and the BOB Junior Mosku (Owelan Aikes). Thank you to the
judge for a great critique and thank you for all the
congratulations and the nice company we enjoyed during the
day! Special thanks to Anne for travelling with us to the
show and all her help during the day!

ISLA BEST OF BREED IN NATIONAL ALL BREED SHOW IN VARKAUS!
The national all breed show in Varkaus was held in sunny
but windy weather. The judge for American Akitas was Kim Vigsö Nielsen
from Denmark and the trainee judge in the ring was Auli Vitikainen. Isla
(Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita)
showed nicely and the judge awarded her with Best of Breed
which was a great win for this young junior. This was
Isla's second CAC in her second junior class entry at the
age of 9,5 months! Isla got a good critique and the judge
also complimented her after the show which was especially
nice! Isla was short listed in the group by judge Paavo
Mattila and we were so proud of the way our little girl
performed in the group ring after a long day! The rings in
the show were big, thank you to the show organizers for
this! Thank you for all the congratulations and thank you
to the judges! Congratulations to all who were successful
at the show, especially to the new Finnish Champion Onni!

ISLA'S FIRST JUNIOR CLASS ENTRY RESULTED IN CAC AND BOB!
Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) turned 9 months old on Thursday and on Saturday she
had her first junior class entry in the Group Show in
Tohmajärvi. The judge Johan Juslin gave Isla an Excellent
and awarded her with CAC and BOB prize! We had a great day
and Isla's first time out in the adult classes was amazing!
Isla got a great critique and we were so proud of this
beautiful girl! Thank you to the judge and thank you for
all the congratulations. We congratulate everyone who did
well at the show and especially Isla's breeder and
co-owner, Blanka
Borowiec-Szczepanska (Finigan Akitas, Poland), for Isla's
first CAC!

ISLA BOB PUPPY IN A GROUP SHOW IN
OUTOKUMPU!
Early in the Saturday morning we headed towards
Outokumpu's Group Show. The weather was chilly and windy
but luckily our ring was inside. The judge was Zidy
Munsterhielm-Ehnberg who awarded Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla
Bonita) with honor prize and
BOB Puppy, we couldn't have been happier!
Isla got a good critique and our trip was really nice.
Thank you for the "coffee" to family Närkki and
congratulations once again for Gucci's and Lordi's BOB and
BOS wins. Thank you to the judge and congratulations to
all who were successful at the show.

Isla 8,5 months.
PUPPYEXPO PUPPY SHOW IN HELSINKI, ISLA BOB AND BPIG-3!
We had entered Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) to the Puppy Show in Helsinki which
was held in the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre
during the PetExpo exhibition. There were about 750
puppies entered to the PuppyExpo Puppy Show and the show
place was filled with people, dogs and many kinds of
happenings. Isla behaved so nicely the whole day and
didn't seem to be at all bothered by everything that was
going on. On the contrary I think she was loving all the
attention she got as so many people stopped to cuddle her
during the day. The judge for the American Akitas was
Javier Sanchez from Spain and Isla showed very nicely in
the ring. She was awarded with BOB Puppy and we were so
happy and proud! Later on in the group ring Javier Sanchez,
who also took the breed earlier, placed Isla third so our
day was a huge success! We want to thank the judge and
everyone for their congratulations! Congratulations also
to others who were successful at the show.

ISLA BOB PUPPY IN A GROUP SHOW IN KORPILAHTI!
Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) was shown in a puppy class in Korpilahti's group show
after a couple of months break. The result was honor prize
and BOB Puppy. Isla travelled and showed very well and
would have also loved to get better acquainted with the
other dogs at the show. The judge at the show was Markku
Mähönen who gave the following critique about Isla:
"Excellent proportions, overall good strength. Good,
strong head. Slightly large ears. Excellent neck, body and
angulations. Excellent bone in the legs. Excellent movement. Good
behaviour." We thank the judge and
congratulate all who were successful at the show.

OPEN SHOW, LAHTI
Isla (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) was shown in the Open Show organized by the Finnish
American Akita Club and placed 2nd in the 5-7 month old
female puppies. She showed very well, got a good critique
and valuable experience. The judge Teija Salmi-Aalto
stated the following about Isla: 6 mths old, strong female
puppy of very good type, strong female head with good
strong muzzle, well set ears, good neck. Topline at this
age soft and the dog gives an impression of being high in
the rear when standing. Quite heavy & strong body for
her age. Good strength of bone, beautiful feet, moves well for her
age. Lovely breed
typical temperament and appearance, nicely handled. Thank you to the judge
and congratulations to everyone who did well at the show.

ISLA WINS BIS-2 IN A MATCH SHOW, WHAT A
DEBUT!
Isla's (Finigan Bos-Eri La Isla Bonita) first time in the
show ring was a big success! She won the puppy class (58
pups) and finally ended up winning BIS-2! There were 125
dogs in the show and the judges were Matti Flinkman and
Mirka Remonen. The Match Show was organized by the Finnish
Coton de Tulear Club and it was held in Kuopio. I was so
proud of our little girl for taking things in stride, this
was her first dog show ever at the age of 5 months! Isla
was showing nicely and we had a great day! Thank you to
everyone for their congratulations and nice comments about
our girl, she sure is a real sweetheart. Congratulations
also to breeder and co-owner Blanka Borowiec-Szczepanska,
Finigan Akitas! I added some new photos of Isla to the
photos page and there are some new photos in the
miscellaneous photos also, I hope you enjoy them!
