Kyudo is a type of archery that developed as a martial art in Japan during the Muromachi period. The bow and arrow had been used as a weapon since ancient times, until the 16th century, when firearms were introduced.
Since then, Kyudo has become an essential discipline for the warrior. People today practice Kyudo primarily to train their minds and spirits. This is because it takes an extraordinary amount of concentration to target a target. The distance to the target is generally 28 meters for short range shooting and 60 meters or more for long range shooting.
